What is STEM?

STEM is a curriculum based on the idea of educating students in four specific disciplines — science, technology, engineering and mathematics. These academic fields are grouped together under the general title “science, technology, engineering, and mathematics.” This word is usually applied to a school’s education policy or curricular selections. It has ramifications in terms of workforce development, national security, and immigration policy.

Why STEM is important?

STEM is important because it instills a passion for innovation and teaches critical thinking skills. Aside from the obvious benefits of learning science, technology, engineering, and math, STEM helps with problem-solving and inquisitive learning, which are essential for success in a wide range of jobs and disciplines.

Why I chose STEM…

At first, I have a doubts for choosing this strand for my SHS. I was so confused before. Questions in my head keep making me nervous like, “Is STEM difficult?”, “Can I finish my Senior High School with this track?”. I wasn’t sure if this was the correct field for me. However, I chose STEM since I plan to take engineering in college. This strand appealed to me since it allows me to follow a variety of professional pathways, and there are many options if you want to work in engineering, science, technology, or mathematics.

Why you also need choose STEM for your SHS Strand?

So, if you want to be a scientist, a doctor, a nurse, a web developer, a biomedical engineer, a geographer, a computer systems administrator, a computer systems analyst, a civil engineer, a database administrator, a biochemist, an IT manager, a software developer, a mathematician, a statistician, or any other job that involves engineering, science, technology, or mathematics, you should pick this strand. This course will assist you in developing your skills and abilities, learning new things, and preparing for your future careers.
